BASKETBALL :

TOP SCHOOLS FOR GRADE 8 PLAYERS TO ATTEND FOR GRADE 9 NEXT YR:

So Your in Grade 8 this Year and Moving on to Bigger and Better Things in Grade 9 in your ball Career and Academics well here is a list of the Best Schools we believe will help your game and Exposure next Year in Peel Region...

1. St. Marcellinus Secondary School - Mississauga
New Prep Program going in .. some of the best grade 9's in the region will be attending this       school they are starting from scratch with mostly grade 9 & 10 recruits coached by Tarry    Upshaw formly of REDA

2. St. Edmund Campion Secondary School - Brampton
Traditional Powerhouse in Brampton Basketball bringing in yet another super group of Grade 8 to Grade 9 talent to add to an already strong Freshman and Sophmore core. This school regular School not a Prep or Sports specific program. The school happens to be in the right place at right time.

3. St. Marguerite d'Youville Secondary School - Brampton
Another Brampton High School with deep tradition on the other side of Brampton
great coaching there in all the good tournaments and if you make it to Sr.Basketball your team will be in the running for OFSAA and other city Championships.

4. Father Michael Goetz Secondary School - Mississauga
Best School at developing unknown talent who ultimately become great team players and individual players Geotz is always a contender and great destination for Mississauga Players to compete against the stacked Brampton High School Teams.

5. Clarkson Prep - Clarkson Secondary - Mississauga
New Program based in deep in the Mississauga Clarkson Prep launched in 2013 and will be resume the program for years to come. This is another great option for Mississauga talent serious about basketball and exposure. The program is looking to build from Grade 9 and up a great destination for young aspiring players they will play a competitive schedule U.S and Canadian competition.

6. St. Roch Catholic S.S. - Brampton
A new power in Brampton Basketball over 70 kids came out to last years Junior Team tryouts clearly a school where Basketball is now becoming war they are a AAA school that will soon change. They will have the talent pool to compete with anyone in the years to come the boys born 2000 will make the greatest impact on the game over the next 4 years.

7. Brampton Centennial Secondary - Brampton
Great School to attend if your a kid who has ideas of playing with the underdogs and winning BCSS gets the most out of there players and if your actually a basketball player you can get your game on over there as opposed to the Bigger name Schools.

8. Notre Dame Secondary School
We all know there Sr.Team had a great OFSAA run the coaching and competitive spirit is good at Notre Dame clearly the schools talent pool is capable of producing OFSAA level talent we dont think this is a one off situation with the kids coming in. If you live within the boundaries of Notre Dame no need to transfer. This is a School where a good player can make the team and be comfortable developing into a great player.

9.  Ascension of Our Lord Secondary School - Mississauga (MALTON)
Deep talent pool in Malton even with all the great players in Grade 8 opting to go to other more known programs what is left over are hungry wolves who are capable of great wins. The Sr.Team this year represented Peel at AAA OFSAA the coaching is there young players no need to avoid this location you will be capable of wins and major upsets. Malton has always been a place where great ball is played nothing has changed the Junior team next year should be a competitive one if the right players make smart decisions.

10.  St. Francis Xavier Secondary School - Mississauga
Always a Great Basketball School in the heart of Mississauga any player from the city should either play for Xavier or Geotz these are the two teams most likely compete for ROSPAA or OFSAA in the city. Young players in Mississauga need not look far to find a great place to learn the game.

These are just the top 10 schools in our opinion for kids going into grade 9 to look at as schools with opportunity and the motivation to compete in Peel Region Basketball.
