U11 Protest Part 2 - NIAGARA

U11 Niagara Part 2..

The picture is getting more clear as the information from all avenues has come in and shared..
1. The Collective Basketball Team should not have been DQ'd from the Win in their semi .. they started with 10 and are allowed to finish with 9 players as the rule is written within the OBA rules .. if they did violate the fouling on purpose rule the would be "investigated for this infraction" not DQ'd and they did not foul purposely they were up by 20pts going into the 7th Shift.
2. The opposing team coach would have to bring issue to the administrator of the tourney if he found issue and again that would be an "investigative complaint" nothing that would forfeit a win.
3. The only way to really give up a win would be to either have overage players or unregistered players or start with 9 players not ten and decide to play.
4. The correct rules were discussed with the Admin Saturday night and Sunday morning without correction.
5. The Collective has never played a single game with 11 players all season however they have 11 registered the 11th player never panned out they have played with 10 the entire season and have been in this situation before without a DQ ever being administered. Kids have fouled out and they have finished games with less than 10 players no issue.
There seems to be a history with the management of the OBA & the owner of the NBA Collective Basketball Club which may have tainted the choices made in this situation for the kids and the tournament.
We understand that all parties were upset however shutting down the tournament and not having the kids complete the finals of the tournament regardless of the teams who played is a big error on all sides this probably could have been worked out Saturday night or Sunday morning without the drama and 30+ unhappy kids.
