WORD ON THE STREET : OBA PLANS TO LAUNCH A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN IN 2015/2106

OBA PLANS TO  LAUNCH A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN IN 2015/2106

With all of the New and Existing Leagues now running and thriving in Ontario the OBA from what we hear will be putting together their own League next season. If you are a Coach for any Club within the OBA you should have received  some form of survey last month asking key questions about things like Leagues and costs etc etc.. well now we all know why the OBA would like to participate in the League format of things similar to CYBL, ABS & JUEL League (Girls Elite League).

From what we hear the League will be Regional and consist of 20-23 games we would tell you what we heard the pricing would be however we will let them announce the Pricing in a formal announcement we know it won't be cheap.

We have a few questions :

1. The OBA seems to be following a trend instead of setting the trend with this new League Concept ?

2. Can the OBA compete with the 2 Leagues who are currently running very strong and growing CYBL & ABS ?

3. What would be the point of paying to be in the OBA and then paying to be apart of an OBA Sanctioned League run by the OBA that would be like donating 2x to the same Group right ?

4. The better strategy would be for the OBA to find away to Sanction these smaller Leagues and become a partner to everyone thus keeping an eye on everyone and remaining relevant if that makes sense to OBA officials ?

5. Where will all the gym time and space come from for the OBA League ?
we have heard the thought is the OBA will leverage the CLUB'S for gym times and availability
