21Hoops Basketball - Only the Beginning / New Club in the GTA making there mark on the Basketball Community

21Hoops Basketball

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Toronto, ON – 21Hoops Basketball may be a new organization, but you can say it has been 25 years in the making.

The club was serendipitously started by long-time friends Mike Millar, Terry Campbell, and former sports agent Jermane Skeete while travelling and coaching with a summer AAU program. During a conversation about what they would like to see happen in the Canadian basketball scene, the trio realized they all shared similar visions and goals. They wanted to harness their respective basketball expertise, explore alternate coaching options outside of the Ontario Basketball Association (OBA) and provide skill development and additional opportunities for student athletes as they progress in basketball and in life.

The three were strongly committed to taking control of how they saw Canadian basketball and its development, and thus, 21Hoops Basketball Inc., was formed.

Since its inception, 21Hoops has formed alliances with organizations such as Canada Elite, and is also a big supporter of the Canadian Youth Basketball League (CYBL), with all the 21Hoops teams participating in the league this season.   The CYBL has expanded to include additional age divisions and more clubs this season.

The 21Hoops organization comprises players and coaches from across the GTA, from Whitby to Oakville, and the West teams primarily practice in the Mississauga, Brampton area while the 21Hoops East teams train out of Scarborough.

Future goals for 21Hoops include plans to expand their current program with player development initiatives such as 21Hoops House League (slated for 2015/16). They will continue to run open development clinics and camps like the 21Hoops Elite Skills Clinic that was introduced in August which had Dave Tyndale, who was recently signed to the Brampton A’s.

21Hoops will be holding tryouts for the U13 (Grade 7) boys East team on September 6th at the Audley Recreation Centre (ARC) in Ajax and the U14 (Grade 8) boys west team on September 8th and 11th in Mississauga at the Carmen Corbasson Community Centre.

THON MAKER COULD END UP IN CANADA @ ACT ORANGEVILLE

THON MAKER COULD END UP IN CANADA @ ACT ORANGEVILLE

ababa

Looks like Athlete Institute in Orangeville could land Top Recruit for 2016 Thon Maker (Australia)
this would be a huge pick-up for the Local Prep should Thon and his younger Brother decide to choose ACT. The pick-up of Thon Maker would instantly boost the credibility and exposure of the Orangeville based Prep School this type of move will put ACT on a whole new level in terms of respect South of the border and complete dominance in Canada compared to any Prep or High School in the Country.

ACT lists many high profile local recruits with Jamal Murray being the cream of the crop followed by Jalen Poyser, Jevon Blair, Keshaun Saunders & Jelani Mofford .

Picture of the Maker Brothers Visting - ACT This week

In our opinion a Prep School isn't Prep School if you are not able to bring in the big guns these 2 brothers both listed at 7'0 ft tall would fit the bill making ACT an immediate contender in North America we will be honest in saying ACT in our opinion under achieved last year given the talent they had and the hype around the program we are glad to see ACT is on track with adding the more weapons for Coach Blunt to use in the coming Basketball Season.
