This is a serious question Steve Kerr now seems to be the coaching darling of the NBA .. how did this happen Steve is a marginal analyst at best with very limited coaching experience if any at any level of Basketball. They say PG's make great coaches how about spot up shooters with gift wrapped 3 pointers set-up by God Basketball himself Michael Jordan. The NBA is a very political league in regards to coaching positions Patrick Ewing has been working everywhere he can to gain experience yet no gift wrapped job offer, Bill Laimbeer who can actually Coach WNBA head coach and NBA Asst roles yet no Major Coaching offer makes you wonder what is going on in the BBALL world.
You could say Kerr is a player personel guy who will gain the respect of his players easily yet somehow I'm not thinking thats who he is as a coach I am hoping he doesn't piss anyone off and get knocked out by any of his players on TV he can be that annoying yet entertaining. The basketball community complains about the kids gaining experience in College and then jumping to the NBA you would think coaching would have the same requirement or training for the highest levels ..
You will say hey Jason Kidd, Marc Jackson in recent memory however those players displayed a far greater Basketball IQ than Steve ever showed us in there respective playing careers .. Jason Kidd experienced a serious learning curve in the beginning coaching fellow hall of famer's in fact he sucked and his staff likely performs most of the heavy lifting as they should. Marc Jackson sucked the first year also however benefited from Steph Curry a future all-star and 40+ games healthy from Andrew Bogut however Marc was not a personality guy with management hence the canning..
No disrespect to Mr.Kerr but he really put himself in a tough spot taking a coaching job in the Wild-Wild west the Knicks would have been an easier fix with a great opportunity to look like a genius the West even with a good team can leave you out in the cold in 9th place .. good luck Steve Kerr and keep Shooting !!!
