What is in a name ? It can mean everything for new Team or Club introducing themselves to a very critical marketplace we have all seen Clubs and Organisations come and go based on bad branding and marketing essentially the Kids and Parents found no reason to stay.
It could have been the coaching or the wins and losses however often with traditional OBA clubs they lack the the cool factor the kids are looking for in Uniforms and just overall style.
On the surface this is a very small aspect of the sport and is actually not relevant to how great a player you become but like it or not people care about the appearance of and image of the Club or Team.
There are a few very bad clubs in terms of uniforms and branding in the OBA and we will name them so we can help them identify there issues:
1. Motion Basketball - Great Name / Bad Logo / Boring Uniforms
2. Mississauga Monarch - Great Name / Great Legacy / Boring Uniforms /
3. KW Vipers - Great Name / Bad Logo / Bad Uniforms
4. Bros Basketball - Good Name / Bad Uniforms /
5. Hamilton Wildcats - Good Name / Boring Uniforms very Traditional / Spooky Logo
6. Blessed Sacrament - From Team to Team there Style Changes mostly Bad Uniforms
7. SBA Blues - Great Tradition / Boring Uniforms no fun there/
8. Team Breakdown - Bad Name could mean anything "car breaking down" etc / Uniforms are distinctive but too loud /
9. Markham Gators - Boring Logo
10. Toronto Tripple Threat - Great Club / No Mascot / Uniform colour is cool but the cut is not current.
These are the 10 Teams that could be a little cooler for the kids next season 2014/2015 its not urgent but just a suggestion.
