CYBL Grade 7 Boys - Weekend Review (Hamilton)

This weekend we were up in Hamilton covering the CYBL Session 2 Grade 7 division and overall it was a great weekend for al l participating teams and players however even with the tremendous success of the league and format there are always a few things that can be improved in the overall experience for the Kids and Spectators.

1.Code of Conduct Policy needs to be stressed to Players/Fans/Coaches + Referee's this weekend we witnessed so many people just go to far with either their words or actions in front of these children and yes Referee's some of these Official maybe shouldn't  officiating kids under HS age we witnessed two "OVER QUALIFIED" CIS refs butcher a kids game because maybe just maybe they are out of touch with "youth" basketball.

2. With the Leagues success maybe this year CYBL may have accepted more teams than they should have or segment the divisions with Gold and Silver groupings half of the games are blow-outs and half are very competitive.

We love the league just 2 things we noticed this weekend.

Teams on the rise in the Grade 7 Division

1. GrassRoots Black - Big Win over CIA BOUNCE Grade 7 on Saturday
2. Ottawa Elite - Put together a string of Wins this weekend moving up the rankings
3. Team Breakdown #1 - Very Elite and steady all weekend
4. Durham City Bulldogs - Still Undefeated
5. GrassRoots Elite Gold - Still Undefeated
6. Marksmen - Steady beating who they should beat all weekend
7. CIA Bounce #1 - Almost pulled a big upset vs Durham City in an interesting game. 6 ejections + 4 player fouled out

The division for the Grade 7 boys is very competitive right now 8 teams seem very competitive the other 8 are looking to improve.

Overall a great weekend at the CYBL !
