WHAT ARE YOUR TEAM GOAL'S FOR OBA'S 

GOALS FOR OBA'S 

We are now nearing the final 2 weeks for the Middle School OBA Season with OBA's finishing up in Kingston, Ontario (Queens University) for the BANTAM BOYS & in Toronto (York University) for the Major Bantam Boys Season the Weekend of April 26 2014.

This time of year seems to be where the rubber hits the road with the expecations for the team as
well as for the individual players .. was it a good year? was it a bad year?  did the player develop?
how has the team progressed and whats going on next year

All of these thoughts come together at the end of the season in one intense weekend focused on winning orlosing there are teams who hope just to win a medal in whatever division they are placed they are happy to be at the OBA's for the experience of the tournament and the love of competition this may be the largest tournament these young players will ever be involved in over 90 Teams per age group many champions and medalist a basketball buffet of sorts.

There is another side to the OBA'S the true pressure of a team with high expectations the Teams that fight for seeding and treasure there ranking as something to protect and defend anything less than a D1 or D2 Medal Top 16 in the province is a huge disappointment these players are being groomed for College/CIS/NCAA whatever desires or dreams they share with there parents and coaches. The OBA's are a high pressure proving ground for young player and there
potential ability and promise if you fail to achieve its is a disappointment for the Club and Parents.

With the popularity of Basketball due to the NCAA success of so many Canadians this years grade 8 and 7 OBA's willhold that much more interest to parents and fans we are all searching for the next big thing we hope these young players will show us something to keep us all believing our friend, son, brother, nephew or cousin will prove to be something we all end up cheering for when they are 18-19 on CBS March Madness.

Until then we have the OBA's and the promise of something great happening the weekend of April 26TH ..
